The City of Richmond’s solid waste and recycling services are provided by two agreements with Republic Services:
- a collection franchise agreement managed by the City of Richmond; and
- a post-collection agreement managed by the West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority (“RecycleMore”).
The collection franchise agreement includes the collection of trash, recyclables, compost, and bulky items from residents and businesses. The
post-collection agreement includes recyclables processing, composting, operation of a Household Hazardous Waste facility, and the transfer, transportation, disposal of solid waste, and education and outreach requirements.
A complete list of solid waste rates, fees, and regulations can be found in the City of Richmond Municipal Code,
RMC 9.20.
