Energize Richmond: Efficiency Rebates Available for Small & Medium Businesses

Energize Richmond is a City program aiming to improve energy efficiency and decrease utility costs for local Richmond businesses. In the last year, the City has awarded $212,803 in rebates to 114 participating businesses. The Richmond City Council recently increased the total program funding to $500,000, of which, $265,000 is still available for businesses. All rebates are available on a first come, first served basis so do not hesitate to take advantage of this great opportunity.

The City of Richmond has partnered with East Bay Energy Watch (EBEW) to administer the Energize Richmond Program. The program maximizes benefits for Richmond businesses by offering up to $6,000 in Energize Richmond rebates that may be combined with standard utility ratepayer rebates.  This program provides great opportunities to control energy use, decrease energy costs, and meet climate action goals.

Energize Richmond will enable business owners to take control of their energy costs by offering:

  • Free no-obligation customized energy audit and assessment to help your business save energy and money;
  • PG&E rebates to help Richmond businesses upgrade their lighting, refrigeration, heating, and HVAC;
  • Additional incentives from the City of Richmond to cover out of pocket costs up to $6,000.
